In the Turkish domestic steel billet market, although producers' prices which had last week increased to $610-620/mt ex-works have not yet changed this week, mills are trying to push up their prices.

Early this week, Kardemir's steel billet sales at $603/mt ex-works, a price level $7-17/mt below the market prices, have not exerted any downward pressure on the market and early this week a total of about 15,000 mt of steel billet was sold in the local market at $617/mt ex-works.

Although there are also some steel billet offers at $620-625/mt ex-works available in the market, actual transactions are being concluded at $615-620/mt ex-works, though producers are trying to push their offers up to $620-630/mt ex-works.
