Over the past week, local Turkish official merchant bar prices have mostly remained stable in the local currency, with minor changes on US dollar basis, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official merchant bar price at TRY 15,900/mt ($674/mt) ex-works today.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering for July delivery and only limited tonnages are available from stocks. A few re-rollers are offering their HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) prices at TRY 20,100/mt ($852/mt), falling by TRY 200/mt ($5/mt), excluding VAT, ex-works.
The general sentiment on the demand side is still weak ahead of the Feast of Sacrifice holiday. Sources report official list prices have mostly remained unchanged, while additional discounts are available for serious buyers.
