Over the past week, Turkish domestic official merchant bar prices have mainly risen by TRY 100-180/mt ($2-5/mt) against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and costlier scrap prices. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official merchant bar price at TRY 16,700/mt ($617/mt) ex-works, SteelOrbis has heard.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering for September delivery and only limited tonnages are available from stocks. Most local buyers are monitoring the import scrap price trend before restocking.
