Turkish mills seek to keep local wire rod prices stable

Official wire rod prices in Turkey have decreased slightly in Izmir and in the Iskenderun region, while wire rod prices in other regions have remained unchanged over the past week. Most Turkish mills are handling their previous wire rod export deals and so they are trying to keep their wire rod prices firm in the local market.

One Iskenderun-based mill has opened its wire rod sales sooner than expected, offering for November delivery and cash payment. Turkish producers are mainly quoting for November deliveries. A few Turkish mills have even started offering for early December deliveries.

Currently, the local offers for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.
