Turkish mill Kardemir opens its rebar sales after a long break

Turkish integrated steel mill Kardemir has opened its domestic rebar sales as of today, August 11. The new offer price has been set at TRY 3,280 /mt ($447/mt) ex-works. The offer is valid for 500 mt and above orders, with 25 percent on cash payment basis, with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral.

The producer’s previous domestic rebar sales were announced on July 21 and closed on the same day.

Kardemir rebar sales price is close to the lower end of the general price range in Turkey. Yesterday, the general domestic rebar price range was at $446-452/mt ex-works for producers, while local traders were offering $444-450/mt ex-warehouse.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
