Turkish integrated steel mill Kardemir has opened its domestic rebar sales as of today, September 8 and closed its rebar sales after a couple of hours. The new offer price stands at TRY 3,435/mt ($460/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 155/mt ($13/mt) compared to last month. The offer is valid for 500 mt and above orders, with 25 percent on cash payment basis, with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral. The producer has sold a confirmed total of approximately 30,250 mt of rebar, though some sources believe that a total of around 40,000 mt of rebar has actually been traded.
The producer’s previous domestic rebar sales were announced on August 11.
Kardemir’s rebar sales price is close to the lower end of the general price range in Turkey. Yesterday, the general domestic rebar price range was at $460-469/mt ex-works for producers, while local traders were offering $460-463/mt ex-warehouse.
