Turkish mill Kardemir closes its rebar sales

Turkish integrated steel mill Kardemir has closed its domestic rebar sales in the afternoon today, November 25. The producer achieved sales of approximately 39,350 mt at TRY 4,160/mt ($520/mt) ex-works. Kardemir’s rebar price is closer to the higher end of the range of producers’ rebar prices which were at $511-520/mt ex-works in the Marmara region yesterday. In addition,12 mm rebar spot prices were available yesterday in Turkey within the range of $504-509/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region of the country. Local buyers believe that market activity will increase due to short-term restocking amid advantageous payment terms.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
