Ex-Turkey merchant bar prices have decreased by average $30/mt amid the currency fluctuations and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment in the last two weeks. However, a few merchant bar reroller has considered $750-760/mt for equal angle export is pretty low and attempted to keep their export prices at $780/mt FOB, while a few suppliers are offering merchant bar for extended delivery due to their ongoing export orders.

Turkish equal angle export prices are currently available at $750-760/mt FOB. According to sources, the merchant bar rerollers are receiving enquiries from Europe, Central and South America as well as Far East and specifically Dubai from Middle East. “Rising freight rates and container availability is another challenge for the merchant bar exports” one source is mentioned.

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:

All prices are on FOB basis and for late September-October shipment.
