Turkish merchant bar export prices rise amid higher import billet prices

A few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have increased their export prices by $10/mt to $600-610/mt FOB over the past week, for late March-early April shipment, due to higher import billet prices. In addition, a few merchant bar re-rollers have stopped quoting offers due to higher freight rates as well as the uncertainties relating to shipping in the Middle East region.

Meanwhile, the SteelOrbis Turkish import billet daily reference price stands at $465-505/mt CFR, versus $460-485/mt CFR last week.

Most international buyers are also in wait-and-see mode due to war-related risks.
