Turkish merchant bar export prices

During the past two weeks, Turkish merchant bar export prices have increased by $50/mt with the influence of the upward movement of import scrap and billet prices in Turkey since the beginning of October. Market sources state that demand for Turkish merchant bar in the export markets has failed to improve in line with export prices, while it is reported that buyers consider Turkish merchant bar export quotations to be on the high side and that their firm bids are $10-20/mt lower than the current offer levels.
