Turkish merchant bar export offers rise, demand sluggish

Turkish merchant bar producers have increased their export offers by $20/mt over the past two weeks, with their export prices for angles rising to $510-520/mt FOB, amid stronger scrap and billet prices in this period. However, most international buyers are on hold now as regards new purchases.

“Middle Eastern and North African buyers are cautious as regards purchases amid their expectations for a downtrend in prices,” one source mentioned. In addition, buyers in Africa and Central and South America are active for now,
