Turkish domestic wire rod prices have risen by $10-30/mt to $645-700/mt ex-works compared to Wednesday, August 3 amid the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment and currency fluctuations. Most Turkish mills are offering mainly for late August or September delivery, while a limited tonnage is available from stocks depending on the size and quality.

One Iskenderun-based mill increased its wire rod price by $15/mt to $645/mt ex-works yesterday, August 4, and has kept its wire rod prices stable today. “Trading activity is relatively better in the local market” one source mentioned.
