Turkish domestic wire rod prices increase significantly

Local Turkish wire rod prices have risen by $15-20/mt over the past week amid stronger scrap prices. Most domestic mills are offering wire rod for June or July production. Sources report some size restriction is valid in all regions. Demand is livelier these days. If  the wire rod price is over $445-450/mt ex-works, then it will have a negative effect on finished product (welded wire mesh) sales. As a result, buyers are purchasing in order to complete their previous orders. Prices may be revised in line with the import scrap price trend. 

Currently, the local offers for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on the actual weight basis, excluding 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.
