Turkish domestic wire rod prices decline due to slow trade

Turkish domestic wire rod buyers are reluctant to make new purchases ahead of the holiday. As a result, domestic mills’ prices have decreased by $5-10/mt over the past week as sellers have been trying to generate sales. Market sources report some discounts are available on list prices for serious buyers. Products are being offered either from stock or for June deliveries. Next week, prices may be adjusted according to developments as regards import scrap prices and the expected revival of local demand, SteelOrbis understands.

Currently, the local offers for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on the actual weight basis, excluding 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.
