The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

During the past week, despite Turkey’s strong wire rod export sales, domestic wire rod price in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions have moved down by $5/mt to $500-515/mt ex-works due to lower import scrap quotations.

Since demand for domestic welded wire mesh is still at low levels due to the sluggishness in Turkey’s construction sector and the stronger downward pressure exerted on prices by buyers in the Izmir and Marmara regions, domestic wire rod prices have decreased in these regions, while quotations in other regions have remained stable. On the other hand, SteelOrbis has been informed that no new ex-CIS wire rod offer to Turkey has been heard over the past week.
