Today, November 1, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have mainly increased by TRY 10-50/mt ($1-5/mt) against the backdrop of the rapid currency fluctuations after the recent holiday in Turkey. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 8,380-8,450/mt or $746-752/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara and Izmir-based mills are offering rebar at $750/mt ex-works today. “A high number of suppliers are willing to conclude sales, while trading activity in the local market is very slow after the holiday”. Sources report that the recent price hike for natural gas in Turkey also prevents Turkish mills from cutting their dollar-based rebar prices.
In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 8,450/mt ($752/mt) ex-works today.
