Today, March 4, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 300-500/mt ($12-24/mt) amid the positive sentiment in the import scrap and billet segments and the depreciation of Turkish lira against the US dollar. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 14,800-15,000/mt or $880-892/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has raised its rebar price by $20/mt to $880/mt ex-works today. Some Izmir and Marmara-based mills were offering rebar at $880-890/mt ex-works, then they revised their rebar prices to $890-900/mt ex-works in the afternoon. Demand is quiet at present, while most buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases in order to monitor the raw material segment.
