Today, October 15, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained unchanged in the local currency, with only minor changes on US dollar basis, amid exchange rate fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar prices in the overall local Turkish spot market are still at TRY 4,120-4,170/mt ($440-445/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Today, İçdaş has also kept its rebar price at TRY 4,220/mt ($450/mt) ex-works, only down by $1/mt on US dollar basis.
Most Turkish mills in Izmir and the Marmara region are currently offering rebar at around TRY 4,170-4,220/mt ($445-450/mt) ex-works.
Most buyers are in wait-and-see mode due to the lack of clarity in the import scrap segment, while they are also waiting for the Turkish Central Bank’s interest rate decision due on Thursday, October 22.
