Today, March 11, spot prices in the Turkish domestic rebar market have fallen by TRY 80-120/mt amid currency fluctuations and the weaker demand, with just minor changes in prices on US dollar basis over the day. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 5,550-5,580/mt or $630-634/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar prices at $640-655/mt ex-works, still quoting on USD basis with the current exchange rate.
Most Izmir-based mills are offering rebar prices at $640-645/mt ex-works.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 5,650/mt ex-works ($642/mt) aiming to maintain $645/mt ex-works.
According to sources, Turkish mills are trying to keep their rebar prices firm, while special discounts are applicable for serious buyers.
