Today, September 23, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 50-70/mt compared to Tuesday, September 21, with minor changes on US dollar basis amid rapid exchange rate fluctuations after Turkish Central Bank interest rate decreased the interest rate by one percentage point to 18 percent. The exchange rate even test $1 = TRY 8.80 after the decision. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 6,800-6,870/mt or $658-665/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
The general rebar price range in the Izmir and Marmara regions is currently standing at $660-670/mt ex-works today. Some local traders are expected to make transactions to take the advantage of the currency fluctuations, no fresh rebar sales have been heard for now.
In the Iskenderun region, one re-roller has opened its rebar sales at TRY 6,900/mt ($668/mt) ex-warehouse in the afternoon.
