Today, November 16, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 130-150/mt over the day, while falling by $2-5/mt, on the backdrops of rapid currency fluctuations as the exchange rate starts exceeding $1 = TRY 10.2. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 8,850-8,950/mt or $733-741/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Izmir and Marmara-based mills’ official rebar prices are standing at $750/mt ex-works, today. Most local traders are reluctant for new purchases due to the firm import scrap prices and the unclear financial situation.
In the Iskenderun region, one re-roller has opened its rebar sales at TRY 8,900/mt ($737/mt) ex-warehouse earlier today and closed its rebar sales in a couple of hours.
