Today, December 7, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 50-150/mt in the local currency, with minor changes in the US dollar prices, amid the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment, sluggish demand and currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 11,550-11,720/mt or $716-727/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Turkish mills’ general official rebar prices vary at $730-750/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S., while sources report even slightly lower levels than $720/mt ex-works are available for serious buyers. The trading activity is slow amid the rapid currency fluctuations and the unclear financial situation in the country.
