Today, January 15, spot prices in the local Turkish rebar market have decreased by another TRY 20-50/mt ($7-11/mt) amid currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 5,590-5,650/mt or $637-644/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Most Marmara and Izmir-based mills are currently offering rebar at TRY 5,670-5,795/mt ($645-660/mt) ex-works.
Most buyers are refraining from new purchases in order to gain a better understanding of the situation in the import scrap segment.
