Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers have kept their official domestic prices unchanged in the local currency with only a drop of $1/mt on US dollar basis amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 26,000/mt ($607/mt) ex-works today, December 23.
Most merchant bar sellers are still offering either for deliveries in late January-February or from stocks, depending on the size.
Sources report additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers depending on the payment term and tonnage.
