Over the past week, Turkish official domestic merchant bar prices have increased slightly on lira basis in the Karabuk region in order to offset currency fluctuations, while prices have remained unchanged in the rest of the country in the local currency, with minor changes on US dollar basis.
One Iskenderun-based mill has kept its official merchant bar price at TRY 17,000/mt ($613/mt) ex-works, falling by $5/mt from a week ago.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for late October-November delivery or from stocks. A few re-rollers are also offering their HEA/HEB (550-700 mm, standard) at TRY 24,000/mt ($865/mt) ex-works for delivery in the Karabuk region, rising by TRY 400/mt ($7/mt), SteelOrbis has heard.
