Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly kept their domestic merchant bar prices unchanged on Turkish lira basis over the past week, decreasing them by $2/mt on US dollar basis amid the ongoing currency fluctuations, while prices have risen by TRY 300/mt ($5/mt) in the Iskenderun region as merchant bar prices there had hit bottom levels last Tuesday, February 24.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 26,550/mt ($604/mt) ex-works today, March 3.
Most merchant bar sellers are still offering either for deliveries in late March-early April or from stocks, depending on the size.
Most local buyers are in wait-and-see mode due to the unclear financial situation in the country and slow trading activity.
