Turkey’s rebar export offers increase on back of costlier scrap

Most Turkish mills have been trying to increase their rebar export offers by $15/mt over the past week to $445-450/mt FOB for January shipment. In addition, some offers are reported at $460/mt FOB but are not considered workable as of today. While overall demand from the export markets remains limited, some inquiries keep coming from the Middle East  SteelOrbis understands.

Turkish producers are expected to refrain from offering sizeable discounts for now, at least as long as no downward price movement is observed on the scrap side.
