Turkey’s local wire rod prices stable, export offers increase

Domestic wire rod prices in Turkey have moved sideways in all regions during the past week. Currently, the offers for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on the actual weight basis, exclude 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

Market sources indicate that Turkish wire mesh, nail and wire buyers are maintaining a wait-and-see stance after the recent sanctions announcement by the US.

On the export side, most of Turkey’s wire rod offers for end of November-December shipments have increased by $5/mt week on week to $440-445/mt FOB. According to market sources, last week Turkey sold 12,000 mt of wire rod to Libya, 8,000 mt to Senegal and 3,500 mt to Tunisia with deals concluded in the range of $435-440/mt FOB, all for November shipments.
