Turkey’s Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 19,875/mt ($548/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, February 19, and closed its rebar sales in the afternoon. The mill succeeded in selling around 40,000 mt due to its advantageous payment terms and competitive pricing policy, while its price has indicated a decrease of TRY 540/mt ($19/mt) against the backdrop of sluggish demand, compared to Wednesday, February 5.
Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, vary at $550-565/mt ex-works at present.
Kardemir was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 36.26.
