Turkey’s Kardemir succeeds in selling around 45,000 mt of rebar

Today, August 18, Turkey’s Kardemir, opened its rebar sales for a couple of hours and then closed them after selling around 45,000 mt.

The company opened its rebar sales at excluding VAT TRY 5,625/mt ($667/mt) ex-works today. The producer has decreased its rebar price by TRY 350/mt ($26/mt) compared to its previous list price dated Thursday, August 11.

The official general price range is currently at $665-680/mt ex-works excluding VAT depending on the region, while only Yesilyurt Metallurgy opened its rebar price at TRY 6,850/mt ($689/mt) ex-works, including VAT today. As a result, Kardemir succeeded in selling around 45,000 mt amid currency fluctuations, its aggressive pricing policy and advantageous payment terms.
