Today, October 9, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has raised its wire rod prices by $10/mt compared to Thursday, September 28, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and higher energy prices.

Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod stands at $600/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $585/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $605/mt ex-works.

Kardemir’s 6-27 mm wire rod price is close to the lower end of the general official price range for the same specifications in Turkey which has varied at around $585-615/mt ex-works. According to sources, the mill succeeded in selling around 30,000-33,000 mt of wire rod from its previous list dated September 28, while only a small tonnage of wire rod has been traded so far from the new price list.

Wire rod prices exclude 20 percent VAT.
