Today, June 8, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has opened its wire rod sales. Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod was at TRY 6,795/mt ($787/mt) ex-works, while its 6-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade was offered at TRY 6,710/mt ($778/mt) ex-works, down by TRY 170/mt ($40-41/mt) compared to its previous list dated Thursday, May 27. According to sources, the supplier has succeeded in selling around 10,000 mt for now, without any final tonnage available by the time of publication.
Wire rod prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
