Turkey's Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 21,000/mt ($544/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, May 7, closing them after a couple of hours. The mill succeeded in selling around 33,000-34,000 mt due to its advantageous payment terms, while its price indicated an increase of TRY 300/mt ($4/mt) compared to its previous price list dated Friday, April 25.

Kardemir was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.59.

Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, vary at $540-550/mt ex-works at present.
