Turkey's Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 22,250/mt ($551/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, July 23, and closed its rebar sales in less than 15 minutes. Sources report that the mill succeeded in selling around 30,000 mt due to its advantageous payment terms. The price indicated a TRY 790/mt ($14/mt) rise, compared to its previous price list dated Wednesday, July 9.

Kardemir was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 40.40.

Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, currently vary at $530-550/mt ex-works.
