Turkey's Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 22,625/mt ($556/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, August 6, closing them after an hour. Sources report that the mill succeeded in selling around 36,500 mt given its advantageous payment terms. The price indicated a TRY 375/mt ($5/mt) rise, compared to its previous price list dated Wednesday, July 23.
Kardemir was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 40.68.
Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, currently vary at $545-555/mt ex-works.
