Today, May 12, Turkey’s Kardemir opened its rebar sales today for the first time after its previous list dated Thursday, March 3. The mill has succeeded in selling around 13,850 mt of rebar so far.

The supplier opened its rebar sales today at TRY 12,150/mt ($790/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT. The main reasons are the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment and sluggish demand. Sources report that around 13,000 mt of rebar were traded in the Izmir region at $800/mt ex-works yesterday. As a result, the supplier’s rebar price is close to the lower end of the workable price range at $800-820/mt ex-works seen yesterday.
