Turkey's Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 21,585/mt ($554/mt), excluding VAT, today, May 28. Sources report the mill has succeeded in selling around 11,500 mt so far due to its advantageous payment terms, while its price indicated an increase of TRY 35/mt, while down by only $2/mt on US dollar basis, compared to its previous price list dated Wednesday, May 14. The mill's rebar sales are still open and the final tonnage has not been clarified by the time of publication.
Kardemir is selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.97.
Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, vary at $550-565/mt ex-works at present.
