Turkish integrated mill Kardemir closed its wire rod sales late in the afternoon yesterday, June 9. Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod was at TRY 6,795/mt ($787/mt) ex-works, while its 6-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade was offered at TRY 6,710/mt ($778/mt) ex-works, when the exchange rate was $1 = TRY 8.63. According to sources, the supplier succeeded in selling around 25,000 mt.
Wire rod prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
