SteelOrbis has learned that Italian rebar producers have adjusted their domestic rebar prices to €445-455/mt ($583-596/mt) ex-works, compared to €445/mt ($583/mt) ex-works last week and before the summer break. The domestic market has not reacted yet with buyers in wait-and-see mode and so transactions remain few and far between.

Meanwhile, in the export market some Italian producers concluded rebar deals at €430/mt ($563/mt) FOB recently, though this price is not very competitive at the moment. Currently, Algerian buyers are purchasing rebar from traders in a price range of €450-455/mt ($590-596/mt) CIF, but most of them prefer to wait and watch rather than concluding big purchases.
