Domestic longs prices have inched up in Algeria due to the slight improvement in business activity. However, the increase in offers is considered to be a minor one as demand remains largely insufficient.

Tosyali Algerie has increased its domestic rebar price by $10/mt (DZD 850/mt) over the past month to $470/mt (DZD 65,600/mt) ex-works. In the wire rod segment, the producer’s price has inched up by $6/mt (DZD 250/mt) to $486/mt (DZD 74,000/mt) ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned. “While most countries see a good pace in demand recovery, Algeria is falling behind due to some economic and political reasons,” a local source mentioned.

Prices on US dollar basis exclude nine percent and 19 percent VAT for rebar and wire rod, respectively.
