During the past seven days, demand for Spanish rebar in the international market has continued to be characterized by weakness. Market sources state that demand was expected to be weak due to the traditionally slow summer season but rebar supply has also declined after some plants started maintenance works, causing Spanish rebar export quotations to increase slightly. Accordingly, Spanish rebar export prices have risen by an average of €10/mt week on week to €500-510/mt ($585-597/mt) FOB.
