Long steel export prices from the south of European Union (EU) have indicated certain weakening on the limited business activity.

The rebar export prices from Italy and Spain were reported at €375-380/mt ($413-$418/mt) FOB and €385-390/mt ($424-429/mt) FOB, respectively, both down by around €20-25/mt as compared to late September. Offers from Greece are on the higher side at €415-420/mt ($457-$462/mt) FOB, for November shipments, indicating a €5/mt increase since late September. Greek producers seem to be concentrating on their domestic sales and might not be interested in exports since the sizeable price difference with the other southern mills.

In the wire rod segment export prices have decreased by around €10-20/mt, coming to €395-410/mt ($435-451/mt) FOB Italy and €405-420/mt ($446-462/mt) FOB Spain, SteelOrbis has learned. Meanwhile, Greek producers’ wire rod export prices are standing at €435-440/mt ($480-486/mt) FOB.
