According to market sources, domestic rebar prices in Italy have increased slightly in the past week, from €485-490/mt to €490/mt ($554/mt), all ex-works. As reported previously, although demand remains stagnant, Italian producers have been seeking to increase their prices due to higher scrap prices.

Also, market sources note that demand is still decent in Italian producers' export markets. While they have continued to export rebar by truck to northern and eastern European countries, they have also concluded sales to the US and, to a lesser extent, to Algeria. Export prices have been increasing slightly as well, rising from €480/mt to €490/mt ($554/mt) FOB in the past week.
