As of today, August 7, local rebar prices in the Turkish spot market have fallen by TRY 100/mt with minor changes on US dollar basis compared to August 4 amid the ongoing exchange rate fluctuations and sluggish demand. Consequently, local 12 mm rebar prices in the spot market are now trading at TRY 26,400-27,100 TL/mt ($541-556/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with the exchange rate at $1 = TRY 40.64.
Official offers for cash payments for rebar in the Marmara and Izmir regions, including prices from İçdaş , have remained unchanged, hovering at $550-65/mt ex-works, while acceptable prices also have remained stable at $545-55/mt ex-works over the same period.
Meanwhile, a producer in Iskenderun today issued its official rebar price at TRY 27,450/mt ($563/m) ex-works. According to sources, several Iskenderun-based rolling mills are offering rebar to serious buyers today at around TRY 27,000-27,100/mt ($554-556/mt) ex-warehouse, indicating a decrease of TRY 150/mt ($2/mt).
