Domestic rebar prices rebounded in the Italian market after that local producers increased their offer prices to €410-420/mt ex-works last week. Deals were closed at prices between €405 and €420/mt ex-works in the past week, against the previous workable prices of €390-400/mt ex-works. According to sources, there is a lack of material in the market, while demand is decent. At the same time, demand is good outside Italy, where Italian producers have been selling rebar at €420/mt ex-works by truck. The same producers are not giving offers for January shipments by sea yet. According to sources, they want to evaluate the market situation first and they will resume accepting orders only from mid-December. One of the factors they want to evaluate first is the trend of local scrap prices, which are expected to increase in the Italian market in December.
