Rebar prices in the Turkish domestic market

The Turkish domestic rebar market is continuing its downtrend. As regards export bookings, the quietness of the Turkish mills compared to last month is causing both Turkish mills and traders to drop their prices in the domestic market. As is well known, due to the high export booking levels in Turkey - where end-user demand has been slow since the beginning of 2008 - local prices had succeeded in maintaining their strength.

The prices in the Turkish domestic rebar market are at the following levels:

Region

Price

Marmara region

TRY 1,500-1,520/mt ($1,244-1,261/mt)

Izmir region

TRY 1,500-1,520/mt ($1,244-1,261/mt)

Iskenderun region

TRY 1,500-1,510/mt ($1,244-1,252/mt)

All abovementioned prices are on ex-works basis and include VAT.
