SteelOrbis has been informed that the local price of medium size rebar in the Italian market is currently at €445/mt ($576/mt) ex-works on actual weight and open account basis. Rebar prices in this market have been hovering at high levels due to the elevated scrap costs. The end-user demand is currently sluggish for the abovementioned price level. The base prices for rebar in the Italian domestic market are at around €230/mt ($298/mt).
