Ukrainian rebar producer Arcelor Mittal Kriviy Rih is offering rebars for export to the Middle East at around $830/mt FOB on actual weight basis for May shipment.
The Ukrainian producers are increasing their prices. Due to the fact that Arcelor Mittal's mill in South Africa is experiencing difficulties due to the energy supply problems in that country, Arcelor Mittal is shipping most of the material produced at Arcelor Mittal Kriviy Rih, Ukraine, to the country in question. For this reason, since it has limited quantities of available tonnage, Arcelor Mittal Kriviy Rih is acting cautiously with regard to exports to destinations other than South Africa.
Also, the demand activity observed in the Russian domestic market is helping to strongly buoy up prices in Ukraine.
