SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

502 - 510

Thrace

499 - 510

Izmir

499 - 506

Iskenderun

485 - 495

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, wire rod prices in the local Turkish market are in the range of $485-510/mt ex-works, excluding VAT, indicating a decrease of $7-10/mt over the past two weeks. Market sources state that demand in the local Turkish wire rod market has been quiet in the same period, while Turkish wire rod producers may cut their monthly production utilization rates due to the weak demand. Following the declines recorded in import billet and scrap prices, buyers expect further declines in wire rod prices, while market players believe that prices may be revised downwards in the coming days if the pressure on prices continues.
