The situation in the Italian rebar market has not changed in the past week. Italian producers' domestic rebar prices have remained stable at €445-455/mt ($619-632/mt) ex-works. Local demand is still very slack and purchasing activity is at minimal levels.

According to sources interviewed by SteelOrbis, only exports to Algeria enable Italian producers to avoid completely halting production operations. However, even in Algeria rebar demand is not so strong at present. The latest rebar export offers from Italian producers are at €445/mt ($619/mt) FOB for deliveries in May.
